This Rotorua Tour is designed for shore excursions from Tauranga. Clients can be picked up from local accommodation (within the Tauranga/Mt Maunganui/Papamoa area) &/or from the Port of Tauranga. We visit the Te Puia Maori Cultural Center for a welcome concert and tour through its extensive thermal grounds. The tour also covers a variety of different scenery en route and visits a working kiwifruit orchard and the Government Gardens. Pick up times can be adjusted to fit with cruise-ship arrival times

Tauranga - Waitomo : Ancient "Glow-Worm Caves" Shore Excursion

After an early start from the Port, we travel through New Zealand's best farmland, dairy farms, horse studs, & hydro dam - plenty to see on this trip! As you descend into the world-famous cave you can only marvel at the thousands of tiny glow worms and the wondrous display as your boat glides silently along the subterranean river. In the dark of the cave, their radiant luminescent lights give the impression of an amazingly clear night sky full of stars. On our return journey we stop at the The Shires Rest Cafe, Hobbiton for a delicious lunch. The Shire is located approx. two kilometers from the Hobbiton Village. This is where the cafe, toilets, booking office & wonderful gift shop are located. Please note Waitomo Caves, approx. 2:hrs 15: min drive each way through wonderful picturesque country side.
