This photo class, and tour, is a unique experience in and around Santa Fe. Professional photographer David has been a Santa Fe resident for more than 30 years. Bring your digital camera, smartphone, or both. This photo class/tour is a great place to start here in Santa Fe. You will learn composition, portraiture, landscape photography, lowlight, camera functions, and lots more. This 2- hour photo-class/tour will be a fun and insightful photographic learning experience for you while getting to know Santa Fe. Photo editing with Snapseed will be part of the instructions. David knows all the best places to photograph in and around Santa Fe as well as being able to help travelers with questions regarding local restaurants, cultural activities, hiking, etc.

Our journey features a guided introduction to Taos Pueblo, a trip to the majestic Taos Gorge, a stop at Hacienda de los Martinez, and a visit to the storied San Francisco Asis Church. Whether your visit is a day or a week, let us connect you with the pulse of our community, and immerse you in the creative spirit and history of our land. PLEASE NOTE: Taos Pueblo can close at any time due to cultural, ceremonial or other reasons. When this occurs we replace our visit with another cultural partner.
Taos Walking Tour
Historical narrative in Taos' historic district, centered around the old plaza. Your guide will talk about the culture and history of Taos and the mix of Native Amercian, Hispanic, Anglo, Asian, Black and others, who, today have come from all over the world. Your guide and conquistador will be cartoonist, writer, and storyteller Sam Richardson who has many years experience guiding tours. The tour is dog friendly and is offered daily with a reservation. Call for group tours or last minute bookings.
Rio Grande Gorge Full Day
The Lower Gorge of the Rio Grande is a broad canyon with lush riparian habitat along the banks of the Rio. A fantastic full day adventure for families, first time rafters and groups. The first half of the day is beautiful float through the Orilla Verde section of the Rio Grande with incredible scenery, gorgeous riverside lunch stops and ample opportunity to work on your paddling in preparation for the exciting whitewater of the Racecourse to come in the afternoon. The Rio Grande Gorge full day trip meets at our headquarters at 8:30 a.m. daily and the minimum age during most of the year is 5 years old
2 Hour Pottery Experience (Wheel or Hand-Building)
All of our pottery experiences are one-time, two-hour sessions guided by local Santa Fe artists and geared toward travelers, newbies, and anyone looking for a fun introduction to pottery. At the end of class, students will recycle their pieces, but you need not walk away empty handed. Each student gets $15 off of a piece from our gallery, which is full of pottery handcrafted by our teachers. In the wheel-throwing experience, students will dive into the most popular method of making ceramics. Working at the wheel is a meditative, yet challenging process. In this two-hour class, our potters will take you through the process of throwing a piece of pottery on the wheel. In our hand-building experience, students will learn the ancient techniques of working with clay by hand through sculpting, coil-building, or slab-building. The slowness of these methods allow for deeper connection with the material and total freedom of expression through clay.
