Ålesund Sightseeing and Viking Saga Islands
Discover the scenery and history of the ‘Viking saga islands’ of Giske and Godøy. From Ålesund, we’ll travel across the Giske bridge to the saga island of Giske, the birthplace of the Viking chieftain, Rollo. The municipality was named after this small island because of its historical importance. Giske is fairly flat and fertile with some settlements dating back to the early Bronze Age. A stop will be made to photograph the exterior of the quaint 12th century white marble Giske Church, which was originally the private chapel of a local influential family. Travelling through a tunnel will bring us to the island of Godøy and the picturesque fishing village of Alnes. There will be a stop at Alnes Lighthouse for a visit where, on a clear day, there is a lovely view of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding islands. After returning to Ålesund, a stop will be made at the view point on Mount Aksla to enjoy the breathtaking view and a sightseeing tour through the city.

Molde Varden Viewpoint Shuttle
Enjoy the breathtaking scenery from the Varden viewpoint. Our shuttle service will take you comfortably from 0 to 407 m in just 15 minutes to the 407 m high Varden mountain. A spectacular view of the city, its fjord landscape and the magnificent mountain panorama of the Romsdal Alps with its 222 peaks can be enjoyed from the top. The Moldemarka, as the popular hiking and skiing area of the Moldenser is called, offers numerous outdoor activities at any time of year. The Varden is an absolute MUST DO while visiting Molde. There are two options for the way back: A leisurely ride back to the harbor on our shuttle or something more active on the approx. 4.5 km long hiking trail. For the hike, please calculate approx. 1 hour walking time back to the harbor. Both options will pass the Romsdal Museum. The open-air museum with reconstructed historic houses gives you an impression of the history of the region. You can also refresh yourself there with coffee and Svele (Norwegian pancakes).

This car tour starts from Ålesund. We take the road to Hellesylt which goes via the industrial town Stranda and Sykkylven mountain region. In Hellesylt, we take a ferry to Geiranger. Lunch and snacks are available on board. Audioguides on the ferry Hellesylt-Geiranger are available in 4 languages. You will learn interesting facts about Geirangerfjord and will see famous waterfalls. The tour will continue after a small stop in the village of Geiranger. We will travel by car along “the Eagle Road” to Eidsdal. There is one more ferry trip Eidsdal-Linge. On the way back to Ålesund, we will see the most picturesque places of the fjord. White Water Rafting in Valldøla
After some easy training in a safe area, the trip starts with exciting rapids and waves through the first section of the Valldøla. As the river calms, we take our first break on the riverbanks. All guests get the opportunity to swim a fun river rapid. It is a surprising and rewarding experience to feel the power of the river as you safely float through the waves. Once everyone has cooled off enough swimming in the river we continue downstream through high mountains and endless fields of strawberries. Just over halfway point we pull out and take lunch stop along the river. We light a fire, warm water, and serve a local delicacy, Svele, with local strawberries and cream. A great way to refuel before setting out on the final, and swiftest section of the river. The grade steepens and rapids increase in both number and size.
