Nagoya/Kanayama: Eiho-ji,Enakyo,Magome-juku&Tsumago-juku Day Tour

Nagoya/Kanayama: Eiho-ji,Enakyo,Magome-juku&Tsumago-juku Day Tour

Experience the Togisawa River as you stand serenely at the Eihoji Temple. Marvel at the breathtaking landscapes of unusual rock formations at the Hina Gorge Observation Deck. The observatory offers a panoramic view of seasonal nature and the wonderful scenery of Enakyo canyon right next to the red Enakyo Bridge. Magomejuku & Tsumagojuku are tasteful Japanese old townscapes, where you can enjoy the history and culture. Mt. Torikke Eiho-ji Temple → Enakyo Observatory → Magome-juku → Tsumago-juku Eiho-ji Temple, standing serenely on Mount Torikke, offers a peaceful sanctuary. From the Hida-Kanayama Observatory Deck, you can admire the stunning landscape of peculiar rock. Magome-juku retains the architectural charm of a traditional Edo-period post town in Japan. Time seems to stand still in Tsumago-juku, as if frozen in the Edo period, capturing the essence of that historical era.

Pub Crawl in Nagoya

Pub Crawl in Nagoya

"There's nothing to do in Nagoya. It's just a stop-over destination". We know you've heard it before and we're here to show you first-hand that this is absolutely false. Nagoya's nightlife offers one of the highest energy, youthful and fascinating experiences in Japan—you just need to know where to look for it. Our local, long-term resident guides will peel back the layers of the nightlife. They will place you in the locations and situations that made them decide to call this place home. By the end of the night, you will also consider Nagoya to be one of your favorite cities in Japan. At the start of the crawl, you will receive a free beer or highball (your choice!), 4 shots of local sake throughout the night (any additional drinks will be at your own cost), and local residents as your party guides who can speak both Japanese and English. In total we will visit 4 unique locations to enjoy Nagoyan culture and people, with the option to end the night at a club.

Tour of antique shops, cultural stores known only to the locals

Tour of antique shops, cultural stores known only to the locals

Tourist attractions are ok, but this tour has captured the hearts of the guests the most. And above all, the best way to feel the real Japan is to blend in with the locals. I would like to introduce a few of the places where we usually spend extraordinary time. The highlight is an antique shop. It is wonderful rummaging through all the treasures, where you can make many purchases at bargain prices. But I will suggest several spots in that neighborhood, so please feel free to customize your own combination of these places. Depending on specific requests, we will also introduce spots not mentioned here. For example, if you lived in Nagoya's American village with the Occupation Forces after the war, and you would like to feel the atmosphere of those days, I can take you to related places. Please feel free to tell me anything!! E.g. acupuncture to relieve travel fatigue, a barbershop to get a haircut, or anything else. I will accompany you as much as possible.

Market Tour and Authentic Nagoya Cuisine Cooking Class With a Local in Her Home

Market Tour and Authentic Nagoya Cuisine Cooking Class With a Local in Her Home

Please note that the market tour here means a local supermarket tour, which is typically where locals shop. After you meet your host Akiko at the station, she will accompany you to a local supermarket located near the JR station where she will introduce you to the different ingredients used in Japanese cooking. If you like, Akiko can help you purchase local ingredients to take home. After the tour, join Akiko in her kitchen to make classic Nagoya dishes such as red miso stew, shrimp tempura in a rice ball or fried chicken, Nagoya style. You will also learn to make dashi, the foundation of Japanese cooking. Your cooking class will last about an hour before you sit down to share the Nagoyan style Japanese meal you helped prepare. Akiko is thrilled about the opportunity to share specialties from Nagoya as a lot of people don’t know how to cook Nagoya-style food. Because of this, many Nagoyans themselves eat their local specialities at restaurants!

Eat Like A Local In Nagoya: Private & Personalized

Eat Like A Local In Nagoya: Private & Personalized

With one of our hosts, an expert foodie, you will eat your way through Nagoya- a city that has its own name for its local food (its "Nagoya meshi" in Japanese FYI). Learn how to eat hitsumabushi (grilled eel on rice) like the locals or munch on a bowl of miso nikomi (udon-style noodles served in miso broth) at an underground mall. Slurp down ramen noodles, nibble snacks at an izakaya or drink sake in historic yokocho (alleyways). Just save space for ramen because Nagoya has developed its own spicier version called "Taiwan ramen." Nom nom nom Within 24 hours after booking you'll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, you'll be assigned a like-minded host. Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You will also agree on a meeting time and place. Your itinerary is flexible, so during the experience, you can always change your mind about what you want to do
