The French Broad river spans 218 miles from Rosman, North Carolina through Asheville, and toward the state of Tennessee. Section 9 of the French Broad river starts approximately 45 minutes away from Asheville near Marshall, North Carolina and runs through the Pisgah National Forest. The majority of French Broad Section 9 flows through protected lands, and is beginner-friendly. Your guide will navigate you through approximately 5 miles of Section 9, where you will raft through class II and class III difficulty levels, and you may briefly encounter class IV drops depending on the time of year, and the amount of rainfall. This tour combines an incredible stretch of exciting and continuous rapids with some of the most breathtaking scenery around.

We pick you up! Our tour offers a driver/seasoned local guide who will pick you up at your accommodation within 3 miles of city center (One North Pack Square). A small group tour, we provide all window, captain chair seating in a late model Ford transit van , drinks/snacks included. We will travel along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway to discover the amazing views and scenery surrounding this iconic road that connects two National Parks on our way to the hiking portion through the  mountains near Asheville. (scheduled bathroom stops :). We will drive through some beautiful mountain scenery on the way visit three waterfalls and two protected forests. IMPORTANT Before booking this tour please know that we will be walking approximately 3 miles on the hiking portion of this tour over 2 hours at pace of about 1 1/2 miles per hour, including stops at the falls and you should feel comfortable walking this distance before making a booking. We will return to Asheville is between 1:30 & 1:45pm.
