Madikwe Game Reserve Day Tour (Minimum per booking: 5 People)
(Pick up Time: 11am) Are you in Gaborone and want to experience a game viewing safari of the Big 5 in a Malaria free zone, then this is an inclusion package of transport, lunch and game drive. The road transfer is 25 minutes from Gaborone to the border and 15 minutes from the border to Madikwe. This tour may require visa for those who require visas into South Africa. Half Day Tour from Gaborone (Manyana Village Visit)
Looking to take a private guided day trip beyond Gaborone, come and see what a small beautiful village on the outskirts of the city has to offer. We drive down a tarred open road to Manyana, a village rich in history and culture, where you get to see the only rock paintings available south of Botswana. In great company let's go see some 2000 year old 'Bushmen' rock paintings, as well as a hill which was used during the first defense of Botswana's territory. See the cave that housed a Queen...The village was also home to Dr. David Livingstone before his explorations into central Africa, we get to visit the famous David Livingstone tree located in the heart of the village (on donkey cart if available, should you request it, otherwise we use the car. Around Gaborone Adventure
(Pick up Time: 9am) Enjoy a tour of the Three Chiefs Monument for a History of Botswana. We then drive for 15minutes out of the city for our game drive around a nature reserve where you can spot Elands, Kudus, Rhinos, Giraffes, Leopard and other small game animals. After our lunch, the tour takes us on educational tour of the cape vultures and snakes at the reptile park and later take a Boat Cruise in the Notwane River to see some Crocodiles.
Art and Craft Tour
(Pick up Time: 8am) Are you in Gaborone and wondering what to do? Pass your time by doing the Art and Craft Tour, which will give you experience of culture in the near villages surrounding Gaborone. This Tour also introduces you to Rural Botswana and view the lifestyle of people living in village just outside the capital city. Visit Mochudi for a tour of Phuthadikobo Museum, Oodi Weavers and practice a little bit of weaving skills, Gabane for the Pottery and Manyana for the Bushmen Rock paintings which dates back 2000 years ago.
1 Night Madikwe Game Reserve
The only chance you can get around the Big5 Animals when you are in Gaborone. Just 45minutes drive from Gaborone you will spend the night in a malaria free game reserve, with the night full of wildlife and wilderness sounds.
Day visit to a village near Gaborone (Molepolole Village Visit)
Molepolole is the gateway to the Kalahari, and home to the Bakwena tribe. It's an opportunity to meet the village locals and walk amongst them. During this tour we get to meet a young traditional healer, visit the museum to appreciate the tribes history, buy art and crafts made by native San people and if you visit between June and September possibly meet an view some elderly women plaster traditional homes the traditional way - using mud and cow dung (depending on their availability). If you are interested as an optional extra we can take a short donkey cart ride to where we can see the cave that David Livingstone was kept prompting his first known convert.
