Ruines of Jodensavanne tour
We drive in the neighborhood of Jodensavanne past 2 small indigenous villages and see how the locals live. The bus ride is continued to a seaside resort nearby. Peperpot Bicycle Tour
From the bicycle rental company, you cycle to the Plattebrug where you will board a wooden tent boat to Meerzorg. From Meerzorg you will cycle via the Oost - West verbinding to Peperpot. This plantation was laid out by the Jansen family in the early 19th century as a coffee and cocoa plantation. There are two plantation homes on the factory complex, a coffee shed and a coffee and cacao factory. The production continued until 1996. There is also a kampong (settlement) with workers' houses inhabited by Javanese people, although people have found work elsewhere. You can still recognize the coffee and cacao trees, which are nowadays covered with bromeliads, orchids and climbing plants and the animals have reclaimed the area.
