Long ago banished for having "rather been a husband than a wife", Anne Hutchinson has found no better place than Ptown for her "corrupt opinions". A tour with Anne is an exceptional way to become versed in the town's history, not only because she saw it, but through her hilarious weaving of facts, modern events, and unique... personality. Though routes vary, 2024 tours start at Provincetown Brewing Company and are each about an hour in duration and a mile in distance. Offered three times daily. 20 people maximum on each tour. Truro Cape Cod Lighthouse and Highland House Museum Tour
The Outer Cape is lined with beautiful lighthouses that have lit the way for ships through the Cape's treacherous sandbars for centuries! We will begin by driving the scenic route through the Provincetown National Seashore, catching views of Provincetown's 3 lighthouses. Next we'll make our way to the Truro Highland Lighthouse where we’ll spend time on a guided tour of the tower, museum and gift shop. At the very top you'll enjoy beautiful scenic vistas of the Outer Cape's Atlantic coastline and the first links golf club built in the United States! After we'll enjoy a stroll to the Highland House Museum. This one of a kind museum boasts a quality of its own from the rich maritime history, Native American history and American Art history all under one roof! *Please note the Highland House Museum opens June 1st. We'll see the beautiful the Long Point Lighthouse that stretches 66 miles out to sea! As we travel into the National Seashore we'll have views of 2 other Provincetown's lighthouses, Wood's End and The Race Point Light House. Our next stop will be at the Province Lands Visitor’s Center. Here you can explore the museum and learn about the Cape's unique geology you'll also have time to check out the amazing viewing deck of the dunes and Atlantic ocean! From this vantage point, There is a strong chance of seeing the variety of whales feeding just off the shores! After our stop at the visitor center, we'll head to Beech Forest for a guided hike around a beautiful Cape Cod kettle pond. This is a very popular birding spot, with varieties of birds passing through from around the world! This location is a local Provincetown favorite!
