You will be picked up from the hotel in Cairo at 8:00 am by air-conditioned bus to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt. Memphis is located about 18 km south of Cairo and was around 3000 BC. Founded by Menes. Visit the alabaster sphinx and the colossal statue of Ramses II. The necropolis Sakkara is one of the most important sub-Egyptian tombs besides Giza. The largest and most impressive tomb is that of Pharaoh Djoser of the 3rd dynasty of the Old Kingdom (circa 2650 BC) with the famous Step Pyramid. Next to the step pyramid, you will visit the Pyramid of Teti, the tombs of Mereruka and Kagemmi and the Imhotep Museum. On the way to Giza you will have lunch in a local restaurant. The further course takes you to the great pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. Afterwards you will be taken back to your hotel by car.
