Its location and the whole environment around it makes the Pena Palace one of the most unique palaces in the world. If Sintra is known as Lord Byron's Glorious Eden, the Pena Palace is the golden pinnacle on the top of the Eden. In this tour our focus is to show you the history and the stories of the Pena Palace and what was the plan behind it when its owner, Fernando of Saxe-Coburgo-Gota, bought the ruins of a former monastery and transformed that into a fancy residence. The ticket is included, the transport from Lisbon also, the guide will be with you the whole time and he promises you that you will be overwhelmed from the start until the end of the visit. It's a good idea to wear tennis shoes or other appropriate footwear for the tour and bring along a bottle of water. In summer bring your sunscreen and in winter it gets very cold so make sure you bring a jacket.
A minimum of 2 people and maximum of 18 people per booking is required: there is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund.

Unfortunately, this may be transmitted without prior notice.
During the summer and especially on very hot days, the access to Pena Palace can be closed by local authorities due to the risk of wildfire. This information can only be released on the same day of the tour, so Cooltours cannot be held responsible for these situations, which are beyond our control. We will do everything to comply with the program, but if not, we will have other alternatives such as Queluz National Palace.
