This beautiful hiking route leads us to a very scenic part in the east of the island of Ischia. The starting point is in Barano center. The east coast presents itself originally with traditional villages, a special pilgrimage church, orchards and vineyards and rugged rocks. Magnificent panoramic views of Vesuvius, the sea and Capri will accompany us. On the way we partially circle a 2,000 year old volcano. A shallow depth in the sea near the cliffs tells us the position of another volcano that is below sea level. Feather-light pumice stones form rock faces on the cliffs. Today they tell us about the volcanic past of this region. Old terrace gardens are still used for growing wine and vegetables. We take a rest at the farmhouse with a view of Vesuvius. Then we reach the end point in the village square of Campagnano.
