The Island of Baru is a coastal area located to the south, 45 minutes by boat or bus from the City of Cartagena.

Playa Blanca is the best known because it has a calm sea that resembles a swimming pool. It is for this reason that plankton can be seen at night. This last phenomenon illuminates Baru at night, thanks to the presence of an algae that provokes a reaction that gives rise to the water so that it shines with unique shades.
