Algarve

With several of the country's safest and most beautiful beaches and a year-round mild atmosphere, it's no surprise that the Algarve is Portugal's most popular tourist destination. The Algarve is Portugal's most southern area, spanning the southern Atlantic coast from Vila Real on the Spanish border in the east to Sagres in the west.

The summer months in Carvoeiro may be extremely hot; the ideal time to visit the Algarve region is between April and June when temperatures hover around 25 degrees; September and October are similar. It is especially cold, with the lowest average temperature in January, when rainfall is at its heaviest, resting at 11 degrees.
