Tucked away in the foothills of Mt. Santubong at Damai Beach, Sarawak Cutural Village is also known as the 'Living Museum.' On this 4-hour tour from Kuching, visit the village, where you can see houses built by the different people of Sarawak—Orang Ulu, Bidayuh, Iban, and Melanau—as well as Chinese and Malay houses. This award-winning living museum showcases Sarawak's unique and diverse culture in an accessible, visitor-friendly setting just 45-minute from Kuching. Authentic buildings are set amidst a scenic 17-acre site and is populated by members of Sarawak's many ethnic groups, going about everyday activities. These include wood and bamboo carving, beadwork, weaving, sago-processing, tree-bark cloth making among others. You can learn how to throw a spinning top, try a Penan blowpipe or pick out a tune on an Orang Ulu sape. The tour concludes with a colourful multi-ethnic culture performance in the village's air-conditioned mini-theater.

Semenggoh Rehabilitation Center, a temporary home for displaced Orang Utans that have been rescued from captivity and young orphaned primates. These animals are re-trained to survive in their natural habitat. They learn how to forage for natural food and build nests in the trees. Many have been returned into the surrounding area. Take a walk on the trails and try to spot semi-wild Orang Utans. There are feeding times scheduled everyday at the feeding platfoam.

At Sarawak Cultural Village, there are replica buildings representing every major ethnic group in Sarawak mainly the Bidayuh, Iban, Orang Ulu, Penan, Melanau, Malay & Chinese. All buildings are staffed with members of the ethnic groups in traditional costume and carrying out traditional activities. The staffs act as storytellers who describe and interpret our way of life. They will happily pose with you for photos too!

A walk through the well laid-out trail will reveal you the various crocodile holding pond and other animal cages, bearded wild boar, the sun bear and also a number of birds species at Jong's Crocodile Farm.
