Strolling from one side to the other of Florence city center, we will get familiar with the very mixed fortunes of one of its most famous families: the Medici. We will spend two hours among gossip and truth, talking about the well known as well as the unrecognized members of the family.

We will pass by the Palazzo Medici, the family’s first lordly residence. We will stop in front of the church of San Lorenzo, built according to the family’s taste and sense of scale. We will then walk to the Duomo, where we shall discover the family’s involvement in the construction of what is still today considered a miracle of Renaissance architecture: the cupola designed by Brunelleschi. From here we will move towards the heart of the political power of the city, the Palazzo Vecchio and, after crossing the oldest bridge in Florence, we will reach the fulcrum of the Medici’s ambition: Palazzo Pitti.

Raffaello Sanzio from Urbino contributed to beautify the city of Florence during his stay in our city from 1504 to 1508. He died at the age of 37 in 1520. On the occasion of the anniversary of his death we have created a special tour about this undiscussed painter. The Palatine Gallery , Palazzo Pitti, houses the best Raphael paintings in Florence, perhaps even a portrait of the beautiful Fornarina in the sweet face of the Madonna della Seggiola (Vergin Mary of the Chair).
