Discover the Moorish influences with a visit to the city of Silves and its castle, from the XI century, one of the Moorish fortifications in the Algarve.

Excursion also has a pleasant visit to Caldas de Monchique, famous for its waters and wonderful landscapes. We also have the climb to the highest point in the Algarve, Foia de Monchique with its 902 m altitude and a complete view of the Algarve.

The day begins with a visit to the former Moorish capital of the Algarve, the city of Silves, with its picturesque Castle on top of the hill overlooking the river and the Roman Bridge. On the way to the highest point in the Algarve, Foia (with 902m altitude), we will stop to visit the small village of Caldas de Monchique with its famous spa, whose waters have been recognized since Roman times for their healing properties. In Foia, we will taste the typical liqueurs of the region followed by lunch in a typical restaurant in the Serra de Monchique where you can enjoy a traditional Algarve meal. The afternoon begins with a visit to Lagos, a city that has always been linked to the sea, where the Portuguese Discoveries started in the 15th century. Ponta da Piedade, known for its impressive rock formations. We end the day in Sagres where we will have the opportunity to see the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean, from Cabo de São Vicente, also known in the past as the "End of the World".

You will have free-time to discover monuments of that important age such as the first European slave market, the Statue of Prince Henry "the Navigator", Saint. Anthony's golden church, the old town, the statue and the story of the young King Sebastian. The day finish at Cape St. Vincent, the south western point in Europe, known as "the End of the World".

After pickup from your accommodation in Albufeira, start a day enjoying the medieval castle of Silves. In addition to the castle itself, appreciate the statue of King Sancho I at the castle's entrance. This statue dates back to the time of the Christian Reconquest of the Iberian Peninsula, by the Portuguese monarch D. Sancho.

Continuing through the castle, visit the Sé de Silves before taking the opportunity to explore the old town, making your way down through the old and cramped streets. Admire the many local shops, small shops and cafes, which have decades of history behind them.

Downhill then from Fóia, crossing the countryside and stopping in the small village of Marmelete where you have time to enjoy lunch in one of the local restaurants (included).

After lunch we go straight to Costa Vicentina, to visit some magnificent beaches .

Then it’s on to the ‘end of the world’ – Cape St. Vincent.
