Private Tour in Malta Prehistoric Temples & Mdina
USD 252.38
A spectacular prehistoric site on a 4 Hours private tour to Ghar Dalam Cave and Museum, Tarxien Temples, Hagar Qim Temples, Mnajdra Temples, and the old capital Mdina. On the island of Malta, the temples of Hagar Qim, Mnajdra, and Tarxien are unique architectural masterpieces, given the limited resources available to their builders. The complex show how the tradition of temple-building was handed down in Malta. The temple builders used locally available stone of which they had a thorough knowledge. They used hard coralline limestone for external walls and softer globigerina limestone for the more sheltered interiors and decorated elements.
Mdina is a fortified medieval town enclosed in bastions, located on a large hill in the center of Malta. The town was the old capital of Malta, and with its narrow streets, few inhabitants, and beautiful views over the Island it is truly a magical town. Mdina is referred to as the “Silent City” by Maltese and visitors alike.

A Full-Day Tour to Limestone Heritage Park, Hagar Qim Temples, and More
USD 71.33
The guided tour starts with a visit to one of Malta’s oldest quarries which has been transformed into an attraction for tourists and locals alike and which provides a vivid account of one of Malta’s leading skills – the use of limestone for building purposes, a skill that goes back thousands of years. The magic of Malta’s antiquity will be explained at Hagar Qim, Malta’s main pre-historic UNESCO site, overlooking the wide expanse of the blue Mediterranean and the islet of Filfa. From Hagar Qim you will proceed to Wied iz-Zurrieq where (weather permitting – boat price not included) you can take a boat trip to the Blue Grotto, renowned for its crystal clear waters.
After lunch, we drive through local vineyards right up to the idyllic fishing village of Marsaxlokk. You will have time to stroll through the local market set out on its waterfront. Later we proceed to the cave at Ghar Dalam where archaeologists have unearthed ample proof that Malta once formed part of the European landmass.
