Sit back and relax on this leisurely half-day trip to the El Yunque rainforest. You'll discover an amazing world of nature , waterfalls, scenic views and the sub-tropical rainforest habitat of Puerto Rico's endangered wildlife. This Tour has a 30 to 45 minute walk on a trail. We are one of the few Operators that have the permits to enter El Yunque Rainforest. Our Tour Guides have special training from the Forest service to give the most updated information.

Because this is a private tour, everything is up to you. You can chose where you want to go, how long you want to stay up there, etc.
If you are avid walkers, we can go to the top of El Yunque Peak, Mount Britton, Tres Picachos, The Rock, etc. From up there we can see both, the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. We will walk through the cloud forest.
You don't have to wait for other people. You don't have to rush either. You can stop to take pictures if you like (but don't get your camera wet!). If you get tired we can stop. If you want to go faster, we can do that too.

This is not a regular commercial tour. I will show you different places. I will give you a lot of interesting information in a fun/informal way. You can get to "feel", "breath" and "enjoy" the rainforest.

On this tour you’ll be pick up at your place of stay and driven to the Rainforest which is about an hour drive from San Juan, on the way there we will cover topics like history, food, music, political status and any questions or concerns that you have we can discuss it! This Tour Operates under special use permit from USDA Forest service on the El Yunque National Forest, Permit Number YNF-22003

Our tour guide will meet you at the pickup location, at the previously accorded pickup time (call us for confirmation).We'll then go east for around 45 minutes to El Yunque. Throughout the ride, live commentary and interpretation of your surroundings, as well as information on our Puerto Rican heritage, can be provided in both English and Spanish.
We will see La Coca Falls and Yokahu Tower once we get in the Rainforest. Then, for around 20 minutes, you'll walk through the flora till you reach the river stream on a nature walk path (look out for slippery, uneven ground). Remember to bring your towel and swimsuit! (Swimming is dependent on the weather.)
After the rainforest, we'll board the bus again and travel to Luquillo Beach and Kiosks, where we'll stay for two hours so you can eat or relax on the beach before returning.
Finally, we'll wrap up the day by returning guests to their original pick-up location.

This tour visits 2 of Puerto Rico's most iconic spots. The first stop is El Yunque Rainforest, the only rainforest under the US Parks Services. El Yunque is a MUST for any traveler visiting the island. This by itself makes it a rather unique place, but when you learn the history of the area (which we will give you,) you will understand that this place is much more special than expected. Our visit to El Yunque will be through areas that are not heavily transited. We do not go to the touristy places nor will we take you in a 30 passenger van. We believe nature must be appreciated wholly and you cannot do that in a crowd. In El Yunque we will hike, see waterfalls, and cliff jump in blue pools. The second stop is Piñones. Piñones is iconic for 3 reasons: The beaches, the food and the people. We will visit a beach that is absolutely breathtaking. Afterwards we will visit a mom-&-pop food stand where we get delicious food from the locals

Upon arriving in Ceiba, we will commence with a 25-30 minute hike, which includes a brief river trek. Once we enter the outskirts of the forest, you will climb through rocks and trees to reach the pristine natural pools and waterfalls. Here, you can also swing from a rope or cliff jump. We will spend some time here before proceeding to the next stop, an advanced hike to higher natural pools that lead to exciting natural waterslides. We then return through the same path, with the option to swim part of the way.

Throughout this excursion, your certified guide will share important information about the only tropical rainforest in the US Forest System, as well as intriguing facts about Puerto Rico's culture and history, while ensuring you have a safe, enjoyable, and informative experience.

After the tour concludes, we will stop at a local restaurant for a late lunch (food cost not included) before returning to San Juan or your initial meeting point.

Further up after a 15 minute hike, there is another watering hole with a waterslide and cliff jump into the river. Learn of the history of the rainforest, iguanas, guava trees, bamboos and 100 year old trees. Exposition regarding our Puerto Rican heritage, and live commentary and interpretation of your surroundings can be given in both English and Spanish throughout the journey. After this time, we head back to your lodgings.

There are times when guests want to spend more time in the rainforest surrounded by lush tropical flora, and less time at the beach with food vendors, and there are times when guests are ready to leave the natural rock waterslides/lagoon after an hour and would prefer to sit at Luquillo beach riding jet skis and drinking mojitos. On this tour, you'll be picked up at your place of stay and driven to El Yunque National Forest, which is about an hour from San Juan. You’ll experience El Yunque National Forest through the eyes of our passionate guides. You’ll be guided and listen to live documentaries about the cultural significance of this place to our Puerto Rican ancestors. This tour will give you a lot of knowledge about the importance of the tree species, wildlife, and mountain land to the people of Puerto Rico. The tour lasts about 5 hours from pick-up to drop-off, including driving time, three different stops within the forest, and a stop at a local place for souvenir shopping and lunch before making our way back to San Juan.
