Our visit will take us to the Frida Kahlo Museum, or Casa Azul, her former abode and where many of her self-portraits were created. We will get a sense of how she once lived and worked. We’ll engage directly with her history as we surround ourselves by her artwork, her clothing, her photos, and even the prosthetics, and corsets she wore as a result of childhood polio and a horrifying train accident in 1925.

We’ll then shift our conversation to focus more on Diego as we jump in a taxi to reach our final stop: the Museo Estudio Diego Rivera, or the dual homes and studios of the artists. An Art day trip to the most famous Mexican Artists Museums. Located in Coyoacan (an old colonial town which is now incorporated into Mexico City) is the famed Blue House, built by Frida Kahlo's father and her home for most of her life. Close by is Leon Trotsky's house, now a museum too. We will also visit Anahuacalli, a museum that Diego Rivera built with an Aztec-inspired design, for his collection of pre-Hispanic ceramic pieces, strongly supported by Frida.

The goal is for all tour participants to feel inspired by the museums' treasures and to make the overwhelming collection accessible to everyone.

After picking you up at your hotel, we will go to Xochimilco where we will board a Trajinera in the Xochimilco Canals through small floating islands made more than 500 years ago.
Later we will move to the old neighborhood of San Ángel and near there you will see the attached houses of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo (Museo Casa Estudio).
Then we go to Coyoacán where we will visit the church of San Juan Bautista. We will walk through its main streets, we will get to know the Frida Kahlo neighborhood, after spending some time in these beautiful places we will go to the Historical Center where the guide will explain some important places such as the Plaza de la Constitución, the Metropolitan Cathedral and several historical buildings of this ceremonial center of ancient Tenochtitlán, which continues to be the heart of the most important city in the country.
