From the beach to the Mountain! Explore as a local. This tour is the perfect combination of adventure and history with the best views and turistic locations in Arecibo. You will taste our local street food and cold coconut water to live the "island life" on the beautiful seaside road. Visit a black sand beach at Barceloneta town and stop to see the beauties of the northern side of the island. Then you will hike to explore the breathtaking oceanfront cliffs of the "Archs" in "Cueva del indio" the jewel of the tour. After the hiking you will be visiting "La poza del obispo" beach and jump into our natural waves pool to get refresh. After been exploring a few hours is time to visit "La planta waterfall" to refresh or just enjoy the beauty of the northern karst in the forest. But is not over yet, we will move to the Arecibo old city downtown to learn the history and take some good pictures to end the day. A real adventure awaits and you can be the starring visiting 2 towns the same day.

We will start our adventure by visiting Cueva del Indio or Indian Cave, located in the town of Arecibo. Said to contain the largest number of petroglyphs found along the coast of the island, Cueva del Indio is a cave carved into the limestone by the sea opening to the sky. You will be able to see the beautiful cave, huge cliffs, arches and natural rock bridges. After that we will venture to the town of Manati, starting with a simple hike near the beach to discover a stunning little beach where you will be able to see an open cave called "Cueva de las Golondrinas" or Swallow Bird Cave, known for the abundance of these birds in the cave during mating season. During this visit you will see the local land crab, hermit crabs, among other animals located in the coast of the island. The tour guide will show you the ins and outs of this area, breathtaking views and many areas perfect for a picture opportunity.

This day trip is guaranteed to make your stay in the island unforgettable. This tour has adrenaline and adventure, history and archeology, beautiful scenery and beaches. The drive to Arecibo is About an hour and it is beautiful from start to finish. We arrive and begin our hike to the cave of the Taino. Bring good shoes as the hike is quite rocky. The entrance to the cave is not for claustrophobic people. it is bit challenging but with our careful instructions you will be able to get inside (barring any physical conditions that hinder you). The cave is other worldly. You get transported to the past as you see the over 100 carvings in the stone that are hundreds, maybe thousands, of years old. After we exit the cave we will hike through the famous 7 arches of Arecibo. The arches are natural rock formations which can be appreciated in pictures, but only in person will you realize how beautiful it all really is. Last we visit a non-touristy beach that is amazing!

This full-day trip includes 2 destinations away from the usual tourist crowds of San Juan and El Yunque. Enjoy the breath taking views of Cueva Del Indio (1 hr outside of San Juan). We also stop in a local restaurant for lunch and then you will return to your pickup destination. Round trip transportation & ice cold water is provided.

This is an active tour with moderated physical activity needed and basic swimming skills.

The difficulty of this tour is intermediate, but it requires to be physically fit as we climb over rocks, swim & there is an incline walk to and from the caves. First, we will explore Cueva Del Indio, a pre-historic rock site located near Arecibo, on the northwest corner of PR. Here we will view rock formations and caves, as well as petroglyphs made by the native people of Puerto Rico, Tainos.

Next, we will head inland toward a beautiful mountainous region of the Island, Ciales. Here I will treat you to some of my favorite local foods while we take in the gorgeous mountain views ! Next we will visit a local spot to try our world famous Puerto Rican coffee !

We will then visit one of the most gorgeous natural pool beaches in all of Puerto Rico, Mar Chiquita.

As we head back from our experience, we will cruise along the northern coast of the island, viewing coast line almost the entire way back to San Juan!
