Albufera means nature, gastronomy, birdwatching, culture and history. Today we will discover the waterland were the famous Valencian rice is grown for paella and we will watch local fauna and flora. The Park was declared in 1986 and since then are thousands visitors who decide to visit every year.
During the tour we will visit the bird observatory, where is possible (depends on the year time) to see flamingos, herons, storks or different kind of ducks.
Then you will learn about the rice and the local culture and traditions embarking on a boat to do a ride on the lagoon and pass by some rice fields. After collecting our bikes we will cycle along the riverbed until we reach the famous City of Arts and Sciences. Take amazing photos as we explore the different structures.

Then we take the cycle lane past the port and onto the beach promenades of Pinedo and El Saler. The bike lane follows alongside the beaches and sand dunes and passes through forested areas. We will arrive at the small artificial lake of La Devesa and then onto the large natural lake of Albufera. The Albufera provides the water to flood the surrounding fields to grow the famous paella rice. We will stop at the viewpoint to eat our lunch before heading back to the city.

This route is completely flat and follows designated cycle lanes throughout. It is 37 km (23 miles) return trip. The tour is at a relaxed pace to enjoy the scenery.
